Can YOU walk backwards while singing?

Emma can! For the last few weeks Emma has been perfecting her skills at walking backwards. She's a strange child, is this something ALL kids do at this age? It seems to me to be a marvelous feat of coordination and ingenuity. It's not like Dave and I walk backwards or anything. This is not something she learned by example. She figured this one out on her own. Over-achiever that she is, she also walks backwards while singing songs.

Emma has also started pretending. She likes to carry an empty cup around and pretend to sip from it. She rubs her tummy after each sip and says "ahhhhhh". Last night, Emma found a gift bag and threw its straps over her shoulder. She ran to the front door and loudly yelled "Bye-bye Daddy!!!" repeatedly all while clutching her "purse". Daddy wasn't home at the time, I think she's getting our names confused.

Emma can hold a cup full of water and drink on her own. If she gets distracted, she may spill but overall she's neat and tidy with her drinks. We still haven't managed to teach her how to sip through a straw. She can use a sippy cup, but instead of sipping, she'll just tip it way up until the water runs into her mouth.
